Terms of Service

Last updated: 2025

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of the services offered at makememybook.com (the "Service"), operated by Björkmark ("we", "us"). By placing an order, submitting a payment or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

We produce non-fiction books and audiobooks based on source material uploaded by the Customer. Deliverables and process for each product are described on our website and in the confirmation email sent after purchase. Uploads are capped at 10 000 words of text or 1 hour of audio material per book.

2. Björkmark

Björkmark is the company that operates the Service. Björkmark holds no rights to the Customer's book, cover, manuscript or audiobook, does not appear as publisher on the Customer's book, and takes no share of any income the Customer generates from the delivered materials.

3. Ownership

4. Customer content and responsibility

The Customer is responsible for the accuracy, originality and legality of the material they upload and the information provided during intake. The Customer warrants that they:

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue production of any book we believe, in good faith, contravenes this section.

5. Delivery only — no distribution during launch

During the launch phase, the Service delivers finished files (manuscript, cover, EPUB, print-ready PDF and audiobook MP3) to the Customer. We do not submit to third-party distribution platforms on the Customer's behalf. The Customer is free to publish the delivered files on any platform of their choice. Distribution may become an optional add-on later; when it does, it will be subject to its own separate terms.

6. Audiobook narration voices

Audiobooks produced through the Service are narrated with one of five professionally licensed voices selected by the Customer from samples provided on our website. The voices are licensed for commercial audiobook distribution — the Customer is free to publish and sell the finished audiobook on any distribution platform. We do not clone the Customer's voice.

7. Timeline

Typical timelines are described on our website (chapter outline in 2–3 business days from upload, manuscript and cover within one week of Customer approval). Timelines are estimates given in good faith. Delays outside our reasonable control (Customer response times, illness or force majeure) may extend delivery. We will keep the Customer informed if delays arise.

8. Payment and refunds

9. AI-assisted production

The Service uses AI-assisted tools as part of the production process. The Customer acknowledges this and, if publishing the delivered files on a platform that requires AI-content disclosure, agrees to make that disclosure accurately. We provide recommended disclosure language.

10. Personal data (GDPR)

We process personal data — including uploaded material, transcripts (of any submitted audio), contact details and correspondence — for the sole purpose of delivering the Service. Full detail is provided in our Privacy Policy. The lawful basis is performance of the contract with the Customer.

11. Intellectual property in our processes

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our internal production processes, templates, prompt structures or trade secrets. Ownership of the Customer's delivered materials is however unconditional (see section 3).

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount the Customer paid to us in respect of that Service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including lost profits, reputational harm) arising from the Customer's downstream use, publication or distribution of the delivered files.

13. Termination

We may pause or terminate the Service for a Customer who breaches these Terms, with a pro-rated refund where reasonable. The Customer may cancel at any time subject to the refund policy in section 8.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of a Customer's purchase governs that purchase. Material changes to Terms affecting future purchases will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes will be resolved in the competent Swedish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights the Customer may have in their country of residence.
